Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed

FOMCW has established a year round package of programs, events and activities that promote its mission and provides opportunities for the community to engage with Marsh Creek and the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed in different ways. FOMCW’s major programs include Water Quality Monitoring, Restoration, Outreach, Education, Advocacy & Stewardship Programs, and our Community Service Projects.

“In the end we will conserve only what we love.

We will love only what we understand.

We will understand only what we are taught.”

  Baba Dioum

FOMCW makes an effort to give a variety of activities and opportunities to involve people.  This diverse experience attracts people with different interests to come together and contribute to the mission of Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed. Whether you have an interest in critters, water quality, preserving our open space, recreation, community service, education, art and more we have a way for you to get involved.

Our Philosophy

With those opportunities we create a cycle of involvement. When you get involved you start doing things to improve the creek. While doing things you learn about ways you can help improve our creeks and environment.  That learning experience often inspires folks to take action by modifying behaviors and that also often leads to the sharing of that information and TEACHING others.  That often engages folks more-  we are successful because of our incredible volunteer support.
